As a technological logistics platform powering the last mile, Airmee recognizes the urgent need for environmentally sustainable delivery solutions. The company focuses on offering fast and sustainable deliveries on behalf of its clients through vehicle electrification, as well as fleet optimization that maximizes each vehicle’s capacity and minimizes travel distance. Airmee is committed to decarbonizing 100% of its last mile deliveries by 2021, and going beyond net-zero carbon emissions to become climate positive across its operations by 2025.
“We believe that climate change demands urgent and universal action from all actors small and large. Actions that not only will improve the climate but also make economies more efficient and work in harmony with the environment.” said Julian Lee, founder and CEO of Airmee. “Our state-of-the-art technology optimizes each delivery to reduce travel distance. Combining this with emission-free vehicles, we aim to minimize the harmful emissions that affect both the environment and human health. We are proud to be the first company in Sweden to join The Climate Pledge and be part of a community that is ready to run the furthest and fastest. “
The Climate Pledge invites a cross-sector of companies, organizations, and partners, to work together to crack the climate crisis and solve the challenges of decarbonizing our economy. Bringing together those that are prepared to run the furthest and fastest, The Climate Pledge calls on signatories to reach net zero-carbon emissions by 2040 — 10 years ahead of the Paris Agreement. Amazon co-founded the Climate Pledge with Global Optimism in 2019, and became the first signatory of The Pledge. Not only will Airmee be the first Swedish company to join the Pledge but also only the second last-mile delivery company in the world to join.
“In 2021 all our deliveries will be carbon-free and our goal is to deliver 100 percent emission-free next year. E-commerce has just begun its journey and consumer demands will rise rapidly. By joining The Climate Pledge we hope to get an opportunity to drive the sustainability focus in the logistics industry and lead by example for customers and suppliers.“ Julian Lee concludes.
Airmee is a growth company in logistics that optimizes logistics fleets in real time with new in-house developed technology and machine learning based on several years of research at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. The technology enables fast and flexible last-mile deliveries and a higher utilization of vehicle capacity, which reduces the number of vehicles and emissions in cities. Airmee launched its service in 2018 and today delivers to hundreds of e-retailers in the Nordics.
In 2019, Amazon and Global Optimism co-founded The Climate Pledge, a commitment to reach the Paris Agreement 10 years early and be net-zero carbon by 2040. Now 105 organizations have signed The Climate Pledge, sending an important signal that there will be rapid growth in demand for products and services that help reduce carbon emissions.
